Isogeometric Analysis (IGA) is a numerical analysis technology introduced by Hughes et al. [1] in 2005. Over the last few years, many developments related to Isogeometric Shell and Solid Finite Elements have been added to LS-DYNA. While trimmed structured IGA shells have been already successfully applied to large scale, full vehicle crash simulations [2], the volumetric counterpart, trimmed B-Spline solids were introduced rather recently in [3,4,5]. However, these rather new solid IGA elements have attracted numerous customers in the automotive industry, as they are facing increasing challenges in modelling complex cast components with standard linear tetrahedra finite elements. In current state-of-the art numerical models, the challenges are manifold and the decision for a specific finite element type is just one of them. To allow the use of any IGA element formulation in an industrial numerical workflow, numerous developments, like contact boundary conditions, connection modelling, material non-linearity including plasticity, damage and element failure, mass scaling, sub cycling and other capabilities must be supported. This contribution will present the latest developments in LS-DYNA related to IGA, including structured and unstructured shells and solids. REFERENCES [1] T.J.R. Hughes, J.A. Cottrell, Y.
