This presentation will focus on the approach followed for developing an in-house IGA-BEM solver for computing the lifting flow around a 3D wing and provide initial results from its performance. The wing is represented by a multi-patch T-spline boundary representations, while the wake is represented as a single T-spline patch. In the standard case that the wake is unknown, the problem is integrating an IGA-BIE approach into a non-linear optimisation problem to minimize pressure-discontinuity over a set of collocation points on the wake. For dimensionality-reduction purposes, the design space will be approximated via a parametric modeler for the wake depending on approximately 20-30 parameters, which is based on the experimental expertise of the wake shape available in the literature.
