
Refinement Strategies with A Posteriori Error Estimation in 2D Magnetostatic Isogeometric Analysis

Local refinement is essential for efficient numerical simulations. In Isogeometric Analysis (IGA), hierarchical B-splines have become widely used, particularly truncated hierarchical B-splines (THB-splines), retaining additional properties. This work integrates THB-splines with Bezier extraction, resulting in the multi-level Bezier extraction method, and incorporates a posteriori error estimator, based on a least-squares formulation. The method is applied to 2D magnetostatic problems using GeoPDEs, an open-source Octave/MATLAB IGA code.
